Focusing on Flow State

Focusing on Flow State
Do you want to work more efficiently? Do you need a productivity boost? If so, then flow state is the answer.
Flow state is when we are fully immersed in what we're doing and there's no space between our mind and the task at hand. Let's chat about how flow state can help us do better work while working from home or in an office setting.
Csikszentmihalyl, the founder of flow state, describes flow as: "The state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter."
Flow state doesn't just happen everyday. For flow state to occur naturally most people need to feel confident in the skill they are performing. When we're in flow state, our mind is fully engaged. We lose track of time and feel completely focused on the task at hand. There's no space between your thoughts or emotions and what you're doing.

Self consciousness disappears and the sense of time is distorted. Flow is attainable every day if we approach things from an open mindset and trust our intuition for what needs doing next.

The key ingredients to achieve your own flow state are: a high level of focus, balance between skills and challenge, and clarity of your goals.

Flow state can be found in task as easy as folding laundry or something as complicated as composing music. If you're not achieving flow state in your desired task you might just need a little more practice and take another step towards mastering a skill before flow state fully clicks.
